I Cantori is comprised of a select group of students with advanced vocal potential and experience. In addition to their role as a distinctive chamber choir, I Cantori forms the leadership core for Bel Canto (Women's Chorus) and Die Meistersinger (Men's Chorus). Eligible students make a commitment to both ensembles for the full academic year. This means that members of I Cantori rehearse Monday through Friday from 12 –12:50 pm: M, W, F with the chamber choir, and Tu, Th with Bel Canto & Die Meistersinger. Performance opportunities include off-campus tours. In May of 2009 the chamber choir had the privilege of presenting a concert tour in Brazil. This inspiring two week event was the highlight of the year. Auditions are held during the first week of the Fall Semester. See the Audition and Rehearsal Schedule for full details. |
